Heidi: On our way over to Wal-mart with our ministry team from Bethel church today we asked the Lord to show us His thoughts and the treasures that He wanted us to look for as we were shopping. This is our second time doing a treasure hunt, so with anticipation to see God move we wrote down the things that randomly came to mind. Some were….detergent, baby, Emily, cancer and generations. Our first divine appointment was all these things! We walked into Wal-mart and realized we were standing right next to the detergent when we were suddenly stopped by a lot of traffic. We looked over and saw an older lady holding a baby. Taking a chance, we walked over and told her she was the treasure we were looking for. Showing her the list of things God showed us, we asked if we could pray for her. She said yes, and pointed to her hips which hurt. I asked her what her name was so that I could pray for her, and her name was Emily!! Knowing now that this wasn’t a chance encounter, we asked if anyone in her family has cancer. Looking surprised she said yes. So in the name of Jesus we prayed for her hips to be healed and her sister’s throat cancer to disappear. After we finished I asked her if this was her grandson she was holding, and she said no, it is her great grandson, and her daughter and granddaughter were standing right in front of her…three generations!!
Feeling led to the baby section next, we saw a family walking through one of aisles and we just stopped and asked if we could bless and pray for them. Three more of our treasure map words were revealed as we realized the dad was wearing a pink hat, and they said they had an Uncle with heart disease. Surprised as they were, we prayed with them for their Uncle and got to pray for their baby boy also, who wasn’t feeling well. The cutest thing was that they had with them their 6 year old twins and they both said “thank you” to all of us in stereo as we left!
Now we were excited!! One of the guys we were with had the word butterfly, and as we turned away from meeting with the twins, we saw a lady walk down an aisle with a butterfly tattoo on her arm. When we finally caught up with her we told her she was on our treasure map. She was so surprised that we had picked her out to tell her that Jesus loves her that she wasn’t sure what to do. Tears started welling up in her eyes as she told us that her life was so bad right now that she doesn’t really believe in Jesus, but seeing the risk we took to step out and tell her how much she was loved really touched her. Our friend Brandon shared with her how he saw her as a child drawing and now God wants to use that gift for Him. She started crying more as she told us she grew up drawing as a child and has been painting in her laundry room recently in all the frustration and stress. At that moment I shared my testimony with her and explained that because Jesus loves her He is revealing Himself to her right now. We asked to pray with her, but she wasn’t ready to accept Jesus yet, so I prayed over her a deeper revelation of the Father’s love for her and that He would show her He is real! As we were leaving, we found one more thing to prayer for as one of the things on our list was revealed….she had a skin disease that only appeared when she was stressed, so in faith we believe she is now healed!
What a day already! Looking at a few more of our words, we found "Phil", "Winco", and "broken finger" down in the paper section! Our friend Brandon went to pray for this man he saw in a wheelchair and found out his name is Phil. He had just fainted at a Winco store and now he had lost feeling in his fingers. Brandon asked to pray for him, and then declared in faith that his fingers would be healed. Phil looked at his fingers immediately after and said, “Wow! I can feel my fingers! I couldn’t do that before,” as he moved his fingers all around!! Praise God!
